Krispy Kreme Doughnuts CopyCat


Ingredients:
14 ml water
90 ml lukewarm milk (scalded, then cooled)
1 egg
29g all-purpose flour
29g sugar
1g salts
19g shortening (Crisco)
4g yeast


Directions:
1. Add the ingredients to the bread pan in the order listed in the above recipe. (except butter)
   *Add the (Wet ingredients) water and milk.
   *Than (dry ingredients) add the flour, ensuring that it cover the water.
   *Add the salt and sugar in separate corners of the bread pan.
   *Make a small well in the center of the flour (but not down as far as the liquid) and add the yeast.
2. Set the bread machine to Programme 10 – Dough setting. Press Start. When all ingredients come together, add the butter.
3. When the dough cycle has finished, about 1:30 minutes.Transfer the dough to a clean floured surface.
4. Gently roll dough 1/2-inch thick with floured rolling pin. Cut with floured doughnut cutter.
5. Cover and let rise until double in size, about 30-40 minutes.
6. Heat vegetable oil in deep fryer to 180°C, slide doughnuts into hot oil with wide spatula, turn doughnuts as they rise to the surface, fry until golden brown, about 1 minute on each side. Remove carefully from oil (do not prick surface); drain on kitchen paper. 7. Let the doughnuts cool slightly before glazing with the glaze.


To make the glaze:

Creamy Glaze
19g Melted butter
120g powdered sugar
½ tsp vanilla essence
15g - 23g warm water

Chocolate frosting
19g Melted butter
120g powdered sugar
15g - 23g warm water
29g milk chocolate chips or 29g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Creamy Glaze:
1. Stir in icing sugar and vanilla into melted butter until smooth.
2. Stir in water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.

Chocolate Frosting:
1. Heat butter and chocolate over low heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat.
2. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
3. Stir in water 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
